Dr. Marissa Sturges
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Marissa Sturges was born and raised in Southern California, growing up in Los Angeles and moving to Orange County for university and her adult career as a chiropractor. Dr. Sturges' interest in chiropractic was first peaked at the young age of 11 when she went to the chiropractor to watch her mother's appointment. She was so impressed by the improvement in her mother's symptoms that she decided helping people through chiropractic was the path for her. She followed that path by graduating Cum Laude from California State University, Fullerton in Kinesiology. She furthered her education graduating Cum Laude from the Southern California University of Health Sciences obtaining her Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2018.
Dr. Sturges continues to grow her repertoire of skills by continuing her education in sports rehabilitation, Kinesio-taping, Activator Technique, Leander Technique, and soft tissue modalities. Dr. Sturges takes a whole person's health into account when finding the source of the pain and not just treating a patient's symptoms.
In her free time, Dr. Sturges loves spending time with her family, playing softball on community sports teams, and refinishing old furniture. She is dedicated to improving the health and well being of the community.
Dr. Sturges began helping in our office for doctor vacation relief in 2021. She currently works part-time in Dr. Wells' twin sisters office in Tustin and recently began working part-time for us in October 2021 Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday mornings and will soon start working on Tuesdays as well. We look forward to her growing her patient base here at Back Country Chiropractic and see where her career blossems and grows!
